Childcare & Preschool Supports

At OT with HART, we are passionate about early years education and proud to support many preschools and kindergartens along the border region. Our team works closely with educators to identify and support children with additional needs—right within their everyday learning environments.

Setting Children Up for Success

Our approach is collaborative, child-centred, and focused on setting children up for success from the very beginning. By embedding ourselves within centres, we can work alongside staff to support children both individually and in small groups. This collaborative approach ensures that strategies are realistic, effective, and tailored to the setting.

Inclusive & Nurturing Spaces

Together, we can help create inclusive, nurturing spaces where every child can thrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your child may have access to several rebate options. Some can be claimed through your GP, such as a Chronic Disease Management Plan. Additionally, some children may qualify for NDIS support.

Once you complete your payment, we will provide you with a receipt. You can then use this receipt to process your rebate directly. If your private health provider covers occupational therapy, we’ll email you the receipt, and you can submit it for processing.

To determine your eligibility for Medicare rebates, speak with your GP or paediatrician. Keep in mind that rebates typically cover only part of the appointment cost.

Yes, we are able to provide NDIS support to both self and plan managed participants.

We provide evidence based, goal-driven therapeutic supports and family capacity building to children and their families.

Sharing your NDIS goals, even verbally, helps us tailor therapy to your specific needs. If you prefer, we can keep a copy of your plan and adjust therapy agreements as your priorities evolve.

To ensure a high-quality report, allow up to four weeks for preparation. This process includes parent input, a face-to-face meeting, and a summary with recommendations.

A service agreement outlines therapy costs and helps guide the allocation of NDIS funds. You will have control over how your funds are used. We have a Service Agreement FAQ Information sheet – email us and we can share it with you!

NDIS funds can be used for therapeutic supports and family education. These services can be delivered in clinic, at home, or through visits to childcare and school (upon request). Please reach out to confirm if our services align with your needs.

A referral is not necessary but can assist in accessing rebates or funding.

Yes, wait times vary depending on your availability and preferences. You may want to consider joining other providers’ waitlists for more flexibility.

You can book an appointment by calling or emailing us to join our waitlist. We’ll send you an initial contact form, and once it’s completed, you’ll be added to our waitlist.

Before your appointment, you’ll receive a Service Agreement to complete online. Please arrive 5 minutes early and bring any relevant paperwork or plans you’d like to share. You can also email these documents ahead of time.

The first appointment will last 60-90 minutes and will focus on setting family-centred goals and developing a therapy plan. Parents may attend alone for sensitive discussions, but we encourage the child and other important family members or carers to be present during this session.

Therapy sessions can include direct therapy, updates with parents and carers, education, and collaborative strategies to support follow-through at home.
